Insane Clown Posse – Who are the Juggalos?

In 2010, adult entertainer and reality TV star, Tila Tequila was attacked by a fans of Insane Clown Posse fans at the 11th annual “Juggalo Gathering” concert in Cave Rock, Illinois. More than 2000 followers of the “horrorcore” band were up in arms as Tila took the stage. She claims in a TMZ report, “I went onstage and immediately, before I even got on stage, dudes were throwing huge stone rocks in my face, beer bottles that slit my eye open, almost burnt my hair on fire cuz they threw fire crackers on stage…” Luckily, her bodyguards stepped in and escorted her to her trailer. Soon after, the fans surrounded the trailer, broke windows and covered the trailer with graffiti.

Who are the Insane Clown Posse Juggalos?

The juggalos are extreme fans of the Insane Clown Posse, a hip hop group from Detroit consisting of Joseph Bruce and Joseph Utsler. Juggalos also follow other music groups signed on with Psychopathic Records, the record label run by Insane Clown Posse. Their music is known as horrorcore hip hop, and their following involves fans who dress as clowns and wear clown face paint.

Are the Juggalos a Gang?

They have been accused of gang activity in several states, and some schools have prohibited students from wearing Insane Clown Posse merchandise to school. The group denies any involvement with gangs, claiming they are simply a family with the same music preferences.

What is the Juggalo Gathering?

The 11th annual Juggalo Gathering in Cave-in-Rock, Illinois was advertised as four days and four nights of some of the best underground music on the planet. Under the general information section on the official website, the concert organizers made it clear that “Careless, destructive, disrespectful, or bothersome conduct will not be tolerated. Show respect to all Gathering, Psychopathic, or Security personnel. Refusal to do so will get you removed from the Gathering. Bring any problems, disputes, or conflicts to the information tent.”

Insane Clown Posse Weighs in on the Juggalos?

The former CEO of Psychopathic Records has claimed that any crimes by juggalos are not affiliated with the culture; instead, he believes that any group members involved in criminal activity are just using the juggalos as an excuse for their actions. The Insane Clown Posse has never official statements on the Tila Tequila incident.
